Residential slabs and footings poured to the engineer’s drawings — waffle pod, stiffened raft and strip footings, plus shed, garage and workshop slabs. We do the prep, the steel and the pour, so there’s no gap between trades for anything to fall through.

A slab that’s out of level, out of square or short on cover doesn’t stay a concrete problem for long — it becomes a framing problem, then a cladding problem, then a door-that-won’t-close problem. We’d rather spend the extra half-day getting the set-out right.

Slab Types

The Right Slab
for the Site.

Your engineer specifies the slab type based on the soil classification and what’s going on top. Here’s what each one actually means on the ground.

Waffle Pod Slab

Polystyrene pods laid on the ground with reinforced ribs poured between them. Minimal excavation, good thermal performance, and the most common residential slab on the Coast.

Most common

Stiffened Raft

A conventional slab with beams dug into the ground beneath it. Suits reactive clay sites and sloping blocks where the slab needs more stiffness across the footprint.

Reactive sites

Strip Footings

Trenched and poured footings carrying load-bearing walls, for suspended floors, extensions, retaining and block work. Dug, stepped and poured to the drawings.

Extensions & walls

Shed & Garage Slabs

Thickened-edge slabs sized for the shed kit, with the correct rebate, bolt set-out and falls. Squared up and dead level so the frame goes together without a fight.

We do a lot of work for custom home builders, and the thing they keep us for isn’t the concrete — it’s that the date we give you is the date it happens.

We Hold the Date

Booked into your program and pumped on the day. If weather moves it, you hear from us early, not on the morning.

We Read the Drawings

Set-out, pod layout, beam depths, cover and penetrations checked against the plans before the day, not during it.

Ready for Inspection

Steel and formwork left tidy and complete so the pre-pour inspection passes first time and nothing holds up the pour.

Off Site Clean

Forms stripped, pods and offcuts removed, washout taken with us. The next trade walks onto a clear slab.

Plans & Quote

Send through the engineer’s drawings and soil report. We price the slab from them and give you a written fixed quote and a date.

Excavate & Form

Site cut, levels set, formwork up and squared, membrane down. Beams and pods laid out exactly as the drawings show them.

Steel & Inspection

Mesh and bar tied with correct cover and chairs, penetrations set, then left clean and ready for the pre-pour inspection.

04

Pour & Finish

Placed, vibrated, screeded and power-floated to a flat finish, then cured, stripped and cleared so the frame can start.

What do you need from me to quote a slab? +
The engineer’s slab drawings and the soil report, plus the site address so we can check access for the trucks and pump. If you don’t have drawings yet we can give you a ballpark from the footprint, then firm it up once they’re issued.
Do you do the excavation and formwork too? +
Yes — site cut, base, formwork, membrane, pods, mesh and bar are all ours. You’re not coordinating three different subbies and hoping the dates line up.
Who books the pre-pour inspection? +
On a builder’s job the builder or certifier normally books it. We make sure the steel, formwork and set-out are complete and tidy the day before so it passes first time and the pour isn’t held up.
How long until we can frame? +
Usually a few days, depending on the mix, the weather and your builder’s preference — well before the 28 days it takes to reach full design strength. We’ll confirm timings for your specific pour on the day.
What happens if it rains? +
If the forecast is bad enough to affect the finish we’ll move the pour rather than push through and hand you a slab you’ll be unhappy with. You’ll hear from us as early as we know, not on the morning.
Do you do shed and garage slabs as one-off jobs? +
Absolutely — you don’t need to be building a house. Send us the shed kit’s slab requirements (size, rebate and bolt set-out) and we’ll price it, or just the dimensions if you don’t have the kit yet.
